About micro

WHAT IS MICRO?

micro bar • bites in downtown Kelowna is an expansive 900 square feet of bar and small bites.

The compact space is designed around the unique bar built by local wood craftsman Will Brundula.  Constructed from three species of reclaimed wood, the end cuts are put together like a jig-saw puzzle to create a one-of-a-kind surface that anchors the space.  Over the bar is suspended a 20-foot wooden chandelier complete with dozens of antiqued-style caged lights.

Surrounding this 65′ of bar is a grey stone wall that looks like it’s been part of the space forever and Italian-style plaster walls applied in a hundreds year-old four-stage technique.  Soaring ceilings, Italian plaster and stone give micro a European feeling, but the casual attitude of the Okanagan remains.

This inviting space is designed by internationally acclaimed architect Timothy Bullinger from Arca3 Design Studio in Vancouver. Known for his unique and meticulous work and love of lighting, Bullinger has designed homes for stars like Phil Collins, Vidal Sassoon and Georges Marciano, as well as Vancouver restaurant Miku.
